Challenge

Pallet labels printed at origin could not reflect reroutes or hold statuses at transfer hubs. Drivers called dispatch for updates that should have been self-serve at the dock.

Solution

Each dock door and staging lane got a durable dynamic QR tied to shipment batches. Ops updates hold/release URLs from the dashboard; drivers scan for live instructions and safety PDFs. API webhooks push status to the WMS.

Results

  • Misroute incidents dropped 22% in the first quarter after dock self-serve went live.
  • Dispatch call volume for status checks fell an estimated 15 hours per week per site.
  • Safety checklist completion rose with mobile forms linked from the same codes.
The QR on the dock is fixed. The shipment behind it is not — dynamic links finally match how our floors actually run.
